Who Gets to Define Taiwan in the Age of AI?

When we ask AI about Taiwan’s history, culture, and public issues, whose version does it tell? And do we have a say in what AI knows and how it responds?

On September 27, a conversation on Sovereign AI emerging from Taiwan comes to the Washington, D.C. area.

The First Workshop on Sovereign AI for Collaborative and Pluralistic AI Ecosystems, held at ACM HCOMP × Collective Intelligence 2026, brings together researchers to explore knowledge, language, pluralistic perspectives, and community agency in the age of AI.

Isabel Hou, Taiwan’s Deputy Minister of Digital Affairs, will join as a keynote speaker, together with other keynote speakers from academia.

Taiwanese and Taiwanese American students, researchers, professionals, and friends in the DMV area are warmly welcome.
